Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What is the difference between an Open Coil Sprung Mattress and a Pocket Sprung Mattress?
A. With an Open Coil Mattress all the Springs are linked together with Heli Coil Springs and all encased with a supportive rod edge. Pocket Sprung Mattresses are still sprung however the springs are individual in their own little pockets, the springs work independently. Pocket Sprung Mattresses are often better suited for two people sharing a bed as well as two people sharing a bed of different weights. A Pocket Sprung Mattress which reduce the feeling of ”Roll-Together” whilst still giving superior support.

Q. What is a Foam Encapsulated Edge?
A. One of the disadvantages of a Pocket Sprung Mattress is that as the springs are individual and are not inside a rod edged frame, this can make it feel like there is a lack of support at the edge, to combat this our manufacturers use a technique called “Foam Encapsulation”, this means that a 6” thick piece of foam surrounds the spring unit for enhanced support giving maximum sleeping area.

Q. What is the right mattress for me?
A. This is always a very complicated question to answer, ultimately there isn’t an answer apart from the fact that its entirely personal preference, there are a lot of things to consider such as how many people are sleeping on the mattress and the weight of the person(s) sleeping on the mattress, but as previously mentioned the most important thing is finding a mattress that suits YOU as an individual.
